The English cricket season has officially begun, and boy are we ready for it!
The Kia Oval in Kennington will be the place to be this summer, welcoming matches aplenty. It is also a highly convenient 10 minute walk from our Kennington pub, The Tommyfield, which is the perfect place to stay if you’re travelling to London for any of the matches or are just after a bolthole nearby.
The Tommyfield sits centrally between Kennington station, Southbank and Waterloo, with plenty of things to do nearby if the other half isn’t quite so into cricket. The six lovely rooms at The Tommyfield all feature Egyptian cotton linen on the king or king-size beds, an HD Freeview television, free wireless internet and the oh-so-important Nespresso machine. The Kia Oval will be hosting some great international matches this year, including the Investec Test Matches which are arguably one of the biggest moments in the British summer sporting calendar, with England versus Pakistan from the 11th to 14th August. Matches also include the T20s, County Championships, friendlies and regular games with their resident team, Surrey.
