£5 Pints Return to London

 – New Chelsea pub launches £5 drinks as Londoners face ‘£10 pint’ fears –

At a time when £10 pints are being touted, The Trafalgar in Chelsea, one of London’s most notoriously expensive areas, is now offering pints of lager, ale and cider for just £5.

The first new pub to open on King’s Road in over a century, which is owned by Three Cheers Pub Co, responsible for ten pubs in the capital, is launching what they call ‘The £5 Pour’ – a selection of drinks that cost just £5.

From Monday – Friday, 4pm – 6.30pm, punters can enjoy pints of Timothy Taylor’s Golden Best Ale, Henry Weston’s Vintage Cider or Cruzcampo lager for £5. Wine drinkers can opt for a glass of Dolci Prosecco, Mirabello Blush, or El Nino de Paper red or white, whilst spirits fans are not forgotten with Beefeater London Dry Gin or Absolut Vodka and a mixer for just £5 too.

In keeping with its iconic King’s Road location, The Trafalgar will also be offering select cocktails for just £7. From Aperol Spritzes to Espresso Martinis and Margaritas, there’s something to please every Chelsea pub connoisseur.

The Trafalgar’s punchy pricing strategy doesn’t stop there. Beautiful, illustrated beer mats list elevated pub food, all at affordable prices. From their cheese and ham toastie at £9 to Scotch egg for £7, from fish and chips for £12 or a Wright Brothers Oyster for £4, there’s something for everyone. Should you wish to opt for the oxtail croquettes with Bovril mayonnaise or Chateaubriand, that’s there too – it is Chelsea after all.

Tom Peake, co-founder and co-owner of Three Cheers Pub Co. said: “Prices for everything seem crazy at the moment.  The Trafalgar’s £5 Pour is our way of offsetting the madness. The very essence of a pub should be about bringing people together. Whether you’re a beer drinker, you love a G&T, or you fancy a glass of fizz, you should be able to pop to the pub, have a drink and catch up with your friends.

If people stop going to pubs, London will become a lonelier city, and we don’t want that. Three Cheers for pubs, pints and keeping our communities thriving over a drink or two”.

Created with the after-work crowd in mind, The Trafalgar’s £5 Pour is also perfect for ‘pre-drinks’, before their popular Always Be Comedy Club, every Thursday at 8pm, which has already hosted the likes of Kevin Bridges, Romesh Ranganathan, Sara Pascoe, Ed Gamble and Joel Dommett.
