Summer is almost upon us. Elderflower bushes will soon be blooming in the hedgerows, and Chelsea Flower Show will be bringing all things horticultural to London from 24th to 28th May.
In celebration, The Latchmere’s bar manager, Dan, was inspired to craft a floral cocktail, appropriately named ‘Gin Bliss’. Made with William’s Chase Gin, which is infused with botanicals including elderflower and orange, shaken together with St Germain elderflower liqueur, an aperitif crafted with hand-picked elderflower blossom in France. Trés bien!
The Gin Bliss will be on The Latchmere’s cocktail list from 24th May. We also thought we’d share the recipe in case you fancied trying it out at home.
You will need:
35ml William’s Chase Gin
15ml St Germain elderflower liqueur
1 teaspoon orange marmalade
Half freshly squeezed lemon
Topped up with a sparkling wine of your choice (prosecco, for example)
Garnish of your choice (a lemon slice, sprig of mint or a pretty flower)
Pour all the ingredients except for the sparkling wine into a Boston glass and shake well.
Once shaken, pour into a champagne coupe or long glass and top up with the sparkling wine.
Decorate with your garnish of choice (if it’s a flower, avoid the poisonous ones…).
