“When we first started our business, school friends Mark, Nick and I wanted to open the kind of pubs that we wanted to go to. We wanted to enjoy working in them as much as people enjoyed coming to them (well almost).
Thirteen years on, we want our employees to feel the same. Charm and courtesy is absolutely key for our front of house team, whilst we believe craft and commitment are central to any role in the kitchen. Experience is important but the right attitude is always the magic ingredient we are looking for.
One of the things we are most proud of is how long many of our staff have been with us. They tell us it’s because there’s a great atmosphere in the pubs, we treat everyone fairly, we interfere as little as possible and we pay pretty well. We think it helps that we promote from within wherever possible and that we are very proud of the people we’ve seen grow through the ranks.
