Forget the seasonal sarnie, this year it’s all about Santa’s sausage roll!
This Christmas, leading London pub group, Three Cheers Pub Co, who are responsible for nine venues including the iconic Bedford in Balham, where the likes of Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith have played, as well as The Tommyfield in Kennington, where Romesh Ranganathan and Katherine Ryan have performed their outstanding stand up, will be selling a brand-new sausage roll guaranteed to send Rudolph wild.
From 1st December, enjoy Norfolk Bronze turkey, smoky streaky bacon, roast chestnuts, brandy-soaked raisins, crushed cranberries, sage, onion, a spot of mustard and a dash of vinegar all wrapped in the flakiest of hand crafted, butter puff pastry.
There’s even a vegan version too, laden with chestnut mushrooms, mixed grains (wheatberry, freekeh, red rice, barley and quinoa), pomegranate, brandy-soaked apricots, crispy fried onions, vegan bacon, sesame seeds, sage and mustard all encased in crispy vegan puff pastry.
Both are available to take away or eat in, as bar food or a sneaky starter, and are served with your choice of festive chutney, bread sauce or gravy (just like any good Christmas dinner!).
Are they glorious? Yes? Are they worth it? Definitely. Calories don’t count at Christmas, it’s all just ‘food, glorious food’.
Both sausage rolls cost just £5 and are available at all nine Three Cheers Pubs from 1st-24thDecember.
If you are looking for a more traditional yuletide feast, Three Cheers Pub Co are also offering a three course Christmas menu for just £24, Monday – Friday lunchtime (£32 at all other times) from 17th November – 24th December and are also open on Christmas Day, serving a four-course luxury feast for just £60 per adult (£30 per child).
