This Christmas day, eight leading London pubs including The Avalon, The Abbeville and The Stonhouse in Clapham, The Bedford in Balham, The Bolingbroke and The Latchmere in Battersea, The Rosendale in Dulwich and The Princess Victoria in Shepherds Bush promise you can eat, drink and get merry as they take care of all the hard work so you can focus on your family, friends and all the festivities.
Better yet, four luxury courses cost just £60 and guarantee to keep everyone happy. From the turkey traditionalists to the new vegan or gluten-free member of the family, there’s something for everyone.
Starters to choose from include gin and beetroot cured salmon with caviar, cucumber, radish and sour cream or a crab and prawn cocktail served with lavash crackers. Main courses include beef filet au poivre with potato fondant and cavalo nero; orange and cranberry crusted halibut with sautéed Tenderstem and spinach as well as roast turkey with all the trimmings. Indulgent desserts feature a chocolate celebration, three chocolate creations in one dish, a panettone and mascarpone bomb with white chocolate and pistachio as well as a golden Christmas pudding with salted caramel and brandy cream.
For the ultimate in expected gluttony, the fourth course is a cheese selection courtesy of local London supplier, Hamish Johnston, followed by mince pies.
For those looking for a quick escape from the ‘Christmas at home’ pressure cooker, Three Cheers Pubs are also open for drinkers on Christmas Day. Pop in for a glass of bubbly or mulled wine and they promise to infuse you with the Christmas spirit.
Hardcore Christmas lovers will appreciate the return of the heated winter gardens decorated with fairy lights and fluffy blankets at The Avalon, The Latchmere, The Stonhouse and The Rosendale.
