The great British summer may be coming to a close but we have a reason for you to look forward to autumn. October marks the return of The Avalon Beer Festival 2015, and it’s set to be our biggest yet.
Taking place from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th October 2015 the event gives you the chance to try more than 20 different beers from five top British breweries.
You can take part in tasting sessions, meet the brewers and enjoy six half pints for the cost of a £10 ticket. And it’s all taking place in the stunning beer garden at The Avalon.
We’ve handpicked five cracking breweries to appear at this year’s festival:
The London Beer Factory will be bringing their delicious range of ales to the festival, including our very own Three Cheers Summer Pale Ale, all brewed just 15 minutes down the road. They will be serving beer from their London black cab.
Battersea-based Sambrook’s Brewery will have a selection of traditional craft beers on tap, including its original Wandle Best Bitter and Pumphouse Pale Ale. Each of the beers is unique, but all maintain a quintessentially British flavour.
Micro-brewery Anspach & Hobday‘s award-winning range includes its light and bubbly Cream Ale, produced right in the heart of Bermondsey.
The family-run Brixton Brewery produces small-batches of gutsy, flavourful beer. Make sure you sample their signature Electric I.P.A. and smooth amber session beer, the Effra.
Multi-award winning Timothy Taylor‘s will have a fantastic line-up of beers on offer. Don’t miss their Yorkshire bitter – Boltmaker, which was crowned CAMRA Supreme Champion Beer of Britain at last year’s Great British Beer Festival.
Of course you’re going to need some delicious food to pair with the beer, and so our al fresco kitchen will be serving a delicious range of dishes throughout the event, including one-off versions of our famous burgers and glazed ribs. Our friends at Le ‘Bab will also be joining the festival to bring you their one-of-a-kind gourmet kebabs.
The festival is running from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th October 2015 , between 6-9pm on the Friday and 12-6pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are available from any of our pubs for just £10, which includes three pints or six halves. You can use your ticket for any day of the festival.
We hope to see you there!
